Found Poem

His death sentence came in the summer of 1994

Leaves your body a pile of wax

It was the most helpless I ever felt

Ted, I’m dying

Five minutes later, Morrie was hugging me

Last class just begun
A  deep silence falls

Time was running out.

My tank is almost empty.

You can play all the parts of my life I’m too old for now.

Which side wins?

The pain still goes on.

I noticed Morrie quivered when he moved his hands.

His voice cracked

Because I was so- lonely

I felt the seed of death inside his shriveling frame

  1. I love how the found poem really comes full circle here! Nicely done!
